Howdy y'all from Cody, Wyoming!! Rodeo capital of the world!
It's the Happys... Dallas, Jenna, Claire, Gia, Maysen, Mylee, Parker, Elizabeth, Leslie, Coleman, Josh, Avery, Warren aka Fridge, and Piper!!
This morning, we all woke up at 7:15am and had a gourmet breakfast of off brand cereal in the fine china of a red solo cup. Then, we got ready for a wet and wild adventure on the stinky Shoshone River!!
The water was refreshingly cold (46 degrees!!) and woke us up. There was one raft of guys that belly flopped off the raft into the river and Andrew momentarily lost his shoe after falling out when a big wave hit! Everyone listened carefully to our guides as they were extremely knowledgable, but they also knew how to have some fun! We had the best guides on the river that you could ever have!
We got dropped off back at the campsite and finally got to wash our grimy, stingy, smelly clothes. We think there is a green stench cloud following us around!! After waving the phones around for service, we got to call home. We absolutely loved talking to everyone. Once our clothes were washed, we washed ourselves. The bathrooms were a blessing from God! We were exfoliated and cleansed in preperation for the rodeo tonight! People played spike ball, packed up their clothes, and just chilled until we had to eat dinner. We had grilled cheese and tomato soup. #yum!
The girls got gussied up and the boys cut their jorts too short (leg model who?). We went into town to acquire rodeo attire. Cody was definitely one of the most popular shopping trips for us...sorry mom and dad for all the spending.
Cowboy hats in hand, we galloped to the rodeo. Arriving at last, we of course took a picture with big smiles. We got to our seats and watched some cows frolicking and kicking up the dirt! We also witnessed some calves getting roped which was pretty sad, but apparently it doesn't hurt them.
The cowgirls rode better than the cowboys... there were more "no scores" than anything!
Cohen, our resident "12 year old," participated in the little kids calf chase event. He had to chase after a calf that had a ribbon tied to its tail and get the ribbon off and back to one of the rodeo clowns to win! Unfortunately, some other 12 year olds out ran him but we were so proud to see him out there!
Later, we watched Oreo the bull obliterate a mannequin after the rider was thrown. Oreo was maaaddd. After the rodeo, we all hit Dairy Queen to end the night with something sweet!
We galloped back home, we laid down our hats, and cowboy camped once again. Yeehaw!
The Happys :)
