This beautiful morning we woke up at 4:45 AM and had a delicious and nutritious meal of assorted powdered/chocolate covered donuts and applesauce. We hit the road at 6 AM and made our way to the insanely gorgeous Yosemite National Park. On our way there, we made friendship bracelets, jammed out to some awesome music, napped, and took beautiful pictures of the surrounding landscapes. Unfortunately, part of the park is inaccessible because of the amount of snowfall they had earlier in the year. The road to Yosemite Valley was open, however, at 10 AM the Valley was already at capacity and we were not able to park. No getting out and exploring Yosemite today and we were all very sad. On the bright side, we drove throughout what we could and got to see El Capitan, Half Dome, and Bridal Veil Falls from our windows. While we were driving through we had a delicious lunch of walking tacos made by the Dopeys.

After exiting the park, we drove through Sonora Pass, the second highest pass in Sierra Nevada. The steepest part was a 25% grade incline which caused us to go a mere 3 mph at times!!! Boyce, Vickie, and Maddi handled the inclines like champs!! At one point, we even pulled over to get out and play in the snow… it’s crazy that there is still snow to be seen on July 1st!!! We had a mini snow ball fight and some us made the snow yellow! After our pit spot in the snow, we continued our travels all the way to the town of Lee Vining!!! Fun Fact: there were only 7 in the graduating class of ’23 here in LV!

Once arriving, we feasted on a delectable meal of spaghetti with meat sauce and bread. After dinner, some of us ventured up to the gas station at the entrance of our campsite to get ice cream while others elected to take warm showers. Tonight, we will sleep underneath the stars and enjoy each others’ company!!

Tomorrow is a lengthy travel day where we will end in Tooele, Utah where we will bed down indoors once again!

Aaaachoooo! Sneezys out!

Day 12: San Francisco

Day 12: San Francisco

Today, we woke up bright and early and headed towards the famous Cliff House. Unfortunately, the Cliff House is no longer open, but thankfully the Sutro Baths are right there too so we got to check those out!! Next up was Fisherman's Wharf!! From the famous fishery, we could see Alcatraz and while sitting there, we got caught up on our presentations! After the Wharf, we all got to explore different parts of San Fran! Most of us stopped at shops and restaurants with many trying In-N-Out for the first time...the line went out the door!

Many people rode the cable car from Lombard Street to get to China Town which was super cool. Once making it to China Town, we made our way to the Far East Cafe where we finished our day by having an amazing dinner all together. We had so much food including beef and broccoli, sweet and sour chicken, noodles, rice and lots of vegetables. And finally before loading up the bus and vans, some of us got dessert at Baked Bear. Their ice cream and cookie sandwiches were INSANE!

To end out the afternoon, we made our way to see the one and only Golden Gate Bridge. We got to walk the national landmark of San Fransisco!! Not only was it gorgeous but it was also quite windy and foggy. We hosted a polar run where some of the boys took their shirts off and ran the whole way. Matthew even ran across the bridge then back across and then back again! Everyone had a new hairstyle by the end of the walk also!

Just a little foggy...

Went to the Golden Gate bridge but no gold?

Just look at these smiles!

Cheers to our Golden Gate bridge runners!

We headed back to our wonderful INDOOR campsite where we settled down, did our jobs, and got our laundry. The most expensive laundry bill was a whopping 90 dollars. Shockingly! it turned out to be three boys. Shoutout to Dallas, Josh, and Fletcher. After we got our laundry we all went to take showers, put on our PJ's and, get into our sleeping bags. We know you will all miss the sleepy's but it is our time to wash some dishes!! We love you and see you soon.

Peace out, The Sleepy’s!
