Day 6: The Grand Canyon

Day 6: Grand Canyon

We got up at 4:30am in the chilly morning air to head to the Bright Angel Trail to begin hiking the Grand Canyon!! Grant hurried us to the canyon rim (and insisted we wear no jackets) so we could start our trek before it got to hot. We had three options for hiking: 1 mile, 3 miles, and 6 miles. Every one of us hiked while admiring the sunlit walls and looking for wildlife! After hiking, we returned to gift shops where we got ice cream and souvenirs and a lot of us hit the showers and did some much needed laundry. No one turned their tighty whities a different color!

As we all trickled back into our campsite, we were met with the sound of Grant playing country music and the sight of Ms. V cooking on the grill and Mr. Boyce opening the cans for the highly anticipated Deaton Stew!!! Some liked it, while others didn't prefer it. But nonetheless, it was a very fulfilling meal after our hike! For the rest of the afternoon, we finished up laundry, took some much needed naps, explored the grounds, and of course called HOME!

In the evening, we had the option of eating in the park or having leftover Deaton Stew. Soon after dinner, we gathered around for another sing-along which ended with us gettin surprise t-shirts for hiking the Grand Canyon and also the opportunity to buy more TWB merch!!
